My poem "King Vultures" appears today on Dagda Publishing's blog. This was inspired by a visit to London Zoo, and was originally written for a poetry competition that the Zoological Society of London said they planned to hold, but that never materialised.
Future publication: Corvus Review
My poem "Bat Walk" has been accepted for publication in the Fall 2015 issue of Corvus Review. This is one of several pieces I have written inspired by my work with the Bat Conservation Trust.
Future publication: DSCH Journal
I was delighted to be informed that my poem "Opus 6" will appear in a future issue of The DSCH Journal, a semi-yearly publication devoted to the life and work of Dmitri Shostakovich. The publication date has not been set, but will be in 2016 or thereafter.
This practically establishes a family tradition, since my father Jeff Del Col's poem "Memento Mori" appeared in the Journal's January 2015 issue. By coincidence (since I was already working on my poem when his appeared), the work that is the subject of his poem (the Sonata for Viola and Piano) quotes the work that is the subject of mine (the early Suite for Two Pianos in F sharp Minor). You can hear a performance of the Suite in this YouTube video.
"The Silent Monkeys" to be published by Poor Yorick Journal
I'm pleased to say that my short story "The Silent Monkeys" has been accepted by Poor Yorick Journal, Western Connecticut State University's online publication devoted to "lost objects and images of material culture." Estimated publication date is July 2015.
