I was pushed to “be a writer” for as long as I can remember. At least one close relative still identifies me to others as “a writer,” despite my never having earned a living or identified myself that way.
I enjoy writing, but not as much as I enjoy beekeeping or watching sumo. Writing isn't a major focus for me currently, but I may do more in future.
I only submit my work to paying publications (which are ever fewer). If I can't find a buyer, or if a publication shuts down or a print edition is no longer easily available, but at least one person said they liked the work and it didn't seem they were just being polite, I'll publish it here. I also use this site for anything else that occurs to me (click the three lines in the header to see more). It's designed to be viewed on a tablet or phone, as that's what I have.
My surname is Brown. Del Col is my maiden name, and comes from the Friuli–Venezia Giulia region of Italy. My pronouns are she/her.
I grew up in West Virginia, but have lived in northwest London since 2000. I became a British citizen in 2009 and renounced U.S. citizenship in 2023.
